Dennis Allen
Writer, Performer, Music Director (Whitehorse Readings)
Dennis Allen apprenticed as a storyteller under his Inuvialuit father and his Vuntut Gwich’in mother. He went on to become an accomplished filmmaker, recorded songwriter, and award winner writer. Dennis describes himself as a “hopeless storyteller,” taking any opportunity to spin a yarn or recall one of the hundreds of experiences he’s had in his storied career. As a musician, Dennis describes himself as a cat-skinner, grave-digger, outlaw, and bluesman. He’s been every one of those things and has the scars to prove it. Dennis’ has a disclaimer written into his contracts which states, “Most of my stories are true, but a lot of them aren’t.”
